Embracing the Seasons of Business

All companies have seasons, just like life and the Earth.

I’ve been thinking a lot about seasons lately, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. No, I’m not talking about pumpkin spice lattes or beach days, but the seasons that shape our lives and our business journeys.

Just like our planet goes through its annual cycle of spring, summer, fall, and winter, businesses have their own cycles, too. Throughout the natural seasons, there’s a time to plant, water, nourish, harvest, and replant. In business, this equates to periods of initiating, expanding, sustaining, achieving, and innovating.

Each phase brings its own set of responsibilities, joys, and challenges. And sometimes, just like in a garden, you might find yourself growing a completely new type of crop. This is when things can get new and interesting.

At CityPlat, we’re in one of those exciting, change-filled seasons right now. We're observing, learning, and stretching out our timelines. This shift in perspective allows us to see how past behaviors and decisions have shaped where we are today, and it gives us a better shot at making smart moves going forward.

Now, I know this might sound a bit philosophical- maybe even like I’ve been spending too much time staring out the window with a cup of coffee. But bear with me! There’s a real lesson here. Being able to adapt, stay agile, and be versatile is crucial. Just like you wouldn't wear a winter coat in July, you wouldn’t stick to the same business strategies year-round without considering the changing environment.

So, as we navigate through this season of change at CityPlat, I'm reminding myself, and you, to take a step back and really observe. Look at how things have evolved over time. Stretch your perspective. Remember that every season, every cycle, has its purpose. And just like the trees don’t fight the fall, we should embrace these changes and use them to grow stronger.

Embracing the seasonality in life and business keeps us grounded and ready for inevitable changes. Business is all about the ebb and flow and making the most out of each phase. Each season brings its own opportunities and challenges, but ultimately they shape our journeys and drive our growth.
