Here Comes The Boom

This is the story of turning my vision into reality. More specifically, a personal anecdote for you: the story of CityPlat Capital.

In May 2020, I started dabbling in the world of real estate and joined the talented team at CityPlat Commercial Real Estate.

My goal was to understand the ways real estate could help me build a new life for myself while still bringing value to those around me.

I wanted to achieve more efficiently; if you know me, this means fast.

My partners—Nikita, Vincenzo, and Pat—had already accomplished many incredible feats in real estate, and I'm grateful they pulled me in when they did.

From day one, I was looking for ways to add value, and I knew one of my most significant value-adds was to improve processes.

My "human capital" is best spent doing things that create a better business; networking, partnerships, strategy, and optimizations.

We learned quickly that together we had a unique foresight to secure outstanding deals as proven experts in commercial real estate acquisitions. That's when we started reimagining many of the traditional methods of real estate funding, such as syndications or establishing a fund.

We realized that these vehicles, as effective as they can be, failed to play off what we think is most important, THE DEAL ITSELF.

Enter: CityPlat Capital.

The beautiful part about CityPlat Capital is its deal-driven; we're not forcing ourselves to deploy capital to meet a quoted return; we can focus on great deals and put them in front of our network to participate.

This refreshing approach positively changes the more traditional dynamic.

Investors opt-in to what they like, and we can focus on finding great deals (what we do best). As always, these deals are vetted and diligently reviewed through underwriting before they make it on our investment platform.

CityPlat Capital is our way to bring value to people we trust and trust us, too. This network gets the inside scoop on our deals with the opportunity to invest in our deal flow.

Playing off of each other's strengths and our given expertise allowed us to move swiftly.

Thus, CityPlat Capital was turned from a vision to reality by an incredible team of dedicated CRE experts whom I am forever grateful to have as my partners (and dear friends).

Article 15:Why I Wake Up At 3am

October 20, 2022

If you know me, you know that when I'm on, I'm ALL THE WAY ON.

So yes, I do indeed start my day at 3 a.m. and typically grind until dinner time.

I know what you're thinking…

"Why, and when do you sleep?"

I've found that I've got to structure my time to that degree to maintain consistency throughout my week.

But the truth is, I learned this the hard way.

I've tried every traditional model and multiple variations of the 9 to 5.

Society says, "work hard, save your nuggets, take a vacation from time to time, then retire."

But trust me, I've tried that route, and it wasn't enough for me.

So for the last few years, I've not only structured my days and weeks differently, but my schedule for each month to the entire year has changed.

By month, I've started working diligently in sprints of three weeks, with the fourth week dedicated to slowing down to recharge with friends and family.

By year, I've very intentionally put my December and January on easy mode with more of my focus on family, refocus, rest, and minimal work.

Balance looks very different for all of us, and finding your routine is crucial to staying sane in this addictive hustle culture we're all enveloped within.

So here's your reminder that if you're burning jet-like fuel, you've got to cool the engines, or you'll eventually explode.

I mean, let’s be real…

Even the energizer bunny needs to replace its battery.
