Holy Sh*t, I’m Finally Doing It…
And It's Daunting.
Holy sh*t, I’m finally doing it…
I am writing a book.
… and it is truly my most personal and daunting venture yet.
Initially, I was filled with the same feelings most of us would have.
“Who am I to write a book?”
“Why me? Why now? Why am I doing this?”
But I believe our lives are all full of meaningful anecdotes that compound to be a greater story. And most of us have stories of the heights of happiness and the depths of sadness, tales of successes and failures–and everything in between.
To each of us individually, these are simply experiences we brush off as the past. And while we continually learn from our history, we don’t always assume it is relevant to others.
But then we read novels filled with triumph and lessons, and we are fascinated by the different viewpoints and inspired by random characters’ stories of perseverance.
So I’ve realized that our stories are not always as unimportant to others as we might think and that my story might help someone who might someday write their own story.
Whether it’s a story of life-changing immigration, overcoming bankruptcy, the journey of entrepreneurship, or all of the above…
Your story is worth telling, and like my dear friend Palak says, “Everyone has one book in them.”
That means our experiences are not singular occurrences; sharing them with others can provide purposeful insight and communal solidarity or serve as pure entertainment.
So, here’s to authoring mine.
The outline is penned down, and I’ve been reliving pivotal moments of my life and collaborating with a professional to help me bring forth my unvarnished truths (think: the gospel of G).
I want the people who read my book to walk away with a feeling of gratitude, a new perspective, and a resource they can come back to time and time again.
So you’re the first to know because I appreciate each and every one of you, and I am so excited to bring you along on the journey.
