I Feel Like Sh*t Today

Combating The Tough Days With Positivity

Picture this: you wake up on a day filled with meetings and work, errands to run, and obligations to fulfill. But you immediately feel cloudy-minded and unproductive… and your meditation and morning routine aren't the cure.

We've all been there.

Every day, we have a lot to keep our lives moving, but sometimes we aren't always on our a-game. The obligations in our lives won't stop because "we just aren't feeling it today."

When I find myself in this predicament, I realize that mindset is more important than anything— more specifically, a positive mindset.

Positivity is a powerful force that can propel us forward, even during times when we may not be feeling our best.

I'm sure most of you are like me– we don't have time to waste a day being unproductive.

It's easy to say, "Hey, just be positive," and you'll magically be more productive– I know, that's not much of a solution.

But there are some tangible tricks to help build a positive mindset so you don't have to "will yourself" into a good day.

So what are these tricks? Here are my top three:

Reflecting on Where I Felt Most Peaceful: When you find yourself caught up in a busy schedule, take a moment to reflect on a time when you felt most at peace. It could be a serene vacation spot, a hobby you enjoy, or simply a state of mind. By revisiting this memory, you can tap into the positive emotions associated with it and draw strength from within.

Emulating That Feeling: Once you've identified the moments of peace in your life, ask yourself, "What can I do to emulate that feeling?" Maybe you noticed that you weren't multitasking or overloading yourself with commitments during those times. Identify the actions or habits that contributed to your sense of peace and consciously incorporate them into your daily routine. Embracing healthier choices can bring you closer to a positive state of mind, even on busy days.

Eliminating Things that Don't Serve You: To cultivate a more positive outlook, it's essential to identify and eliminate things that don't serve you. This applies to both your work and relationships. Are there tasks or projects that drain your energy and hinder your progress? Are there toxic relationships that bring you down? Take the time to assess what truly matters to you and let go of anything that doesn't align with your goals, values, or well-being. Creating space for positivity and growth will pave the way for a brighter future.

Remember, embracing positivity doesn't mean ignoring or suppressing negative emotions.

It's about acknowledging their presence but consciously choosing to focus on the positive aspects of life.

Positivity is a mindset that can be nurtured and strengthened over time, and it can profoundly impact your overall well-being.
