The Secret Self-Help Books Won't Tell You…

It All Starts With This Question.

Have you ever found yourself standing in front of a mirror, asking: "Who am I?"

If you haven't, let me be the first to tell you... it's a profoundly uncomfortable feeling.

It's a moment of vulnerability, a confrontation with the self that many of us avoid. Yet, it's also a pivotal starting point for genuine self-discovery and growth.

There are 1000s of self-help books out there. You'll find tons of pages on how to be more disciplined, how to make more money, or how to build a successful business. These books promise to guide you to a better version of yourself, but here's the harsh reality:

If you don't truly know who you are, you might as well burn those books.

The journey to self-improvement starts with you. Let me repeat that.

It starts with you.

Now, I'm not saying your ego is your enemy. Every human being has an ego; it's an integral part of our psyche. But, the real challenge lies in becoming aware of your ego and managing it accordingly.

You can either choose to control your ego or submit to your ego.

I like to think of the ego as a puppet and myself as the puppeteer. You can control a puppet; it doesn't control you. You can acknowledge its presence and consider its characteristics, but ultimately, you are the one who speaks and decides how to behave.

You are in control.

And this underscores our superpower as human beings-- the ability to choose.

At the end of the day, the decisions you make are yours alone. I want you to find strength in autonomy. The journey of self-discovery isn't about suppression or denial. It's about awareness, choice, and control.

By understanding who you are and how your ego influences your thoughts and actions, you unlock the potential to live a life of authenticity and purpose.

And remember, the strength to define yourself and the power to choose your path lie within you, and you only.
